CHURCH ACTION

FOR PEACE IN
PALESTINE
AND ISRAEL

3 – 9 June 2007

The World Council of Church is calling for churches around the world to advocate for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestine and to support moves for a just peace in the Middle East.

International Church Action for
Peace in Palestine and Israel –
ICAPPI
An initiative of the World Council of Churches.

“Palestinians need to be helped to regain their freedom as persons and people, to see the Israeli military occupation come to an end.  Israelis need to be helped to have security, to be free from all fear, to win the last battle of peace.”
His Beatitude Michel Sabbah, the Latin Patriarch in Jerusalem.

A Reflective Prayer Service Welcoming people of all faiths and Denominations

will be held to mark the
World Council of Churches ICAPPI Initiative on

Sunday, June 3, 2007

At the Melkite Catholic Centre,
80 Waterloo Rd, Greenacre

At 2:30pm

Following this service, an olive tree will be planted in the grounds of the Melkite Church,
as a symbol of the commitment of all those involved
to
work for a just peace in the Middle East.
