Rusty Stewart’s photographic slide show accompanied by nothing but some haunting music of the region transports visitors to another time, another place without anyone realising that they have left the comfort and safety of home. The images are so powerful that eyes seems to follow you as you follow them. Sounds – crunching boots, pounding on doors, gunshots, the wailing. Smells - rotting dead, fresh blood. Now, the rough grip, tape cutting into flesh, the sun beating down and waiting, waiting, waiting – endless waiting – thirst, hunger, weariness. Oh the pain of living. It’s all real, it’s all imagined. Does it matter? It could be you, it could be me, it could be anyone, but it’s only the Palestinians under occupation. |
